It’s a collaborative effort between the Eversole Street business neighbors (Forever Home Realty, Sports Café, Harlan TV, Harris Insurance, Eversole Properties) and the Harlan Tourism Commission. A testament to the family feeling on our tiny street in our small town, this alley features a vibrant display of umbrellas that change with the seasons, along with festive lighting that adds a magical glow in the evenings.
New Addition: A Stunning Mural
The latest addition to Umbrella Alley is a breathtaking mural on the Harris Insurance building, created by a talented team of artists–Kustom FX Graphics, Land of Liv by Olivia Petty-Taylor, Painting Appalachia by Nora Hall and paid for by Harlan Tourism/Visit Harlan County. This beautiful artwork adds a whole new level of creativity to the space, and it’s filled with hidden objects—some to scale, some not. It’s not just art, it’s interactive and there are multiple places for photos. It’s the perfect mix of art and play, inviting visitors to find these hidden gems scattered across the mural.
